i wish i could quit you...

so i am not leaving blogger... lol... it just pains me to even attempt to delete it.

i just ask you all to cross your fingers for me that i can get my olympus e-p1 before the start of 2010.

quick life updates:

i'm moving back home to dc for the fall of 2010.
i'm moving back on campus for the spring 2010 semester.
i'm gonna become celibate starting jan 2010 continuing until june.
i'm a cigarette smoker, and i'm not ashamed of it.
i'm going to purchase a new moleskin, and in it will be my life.
i'm going to use facebook alot less... as in, 3 hours a day maximum.
i'm going to immerse myself even more into fashion... more than i already do.
i'm going to make a conscious effort to visit a museum once a month.

these are sorta kinda resolutions, but just life changes overall.

this blog won't be updated very much until next year...
but please don't stop reading my archives, and checking back every so often for updates.

peace & love.

no comments. lol.

Yah, so I'm back.... I guess I just couldn't stay away... ionno... but this blog has like, been a constant for me, and right now, I am in desperate need of some constants... my life is way to all over the place for my liking at the moment.

sooo... on the influence of a friend, I'm not gonna fool myself by attempting to maintain daily entries... instead, I will share the major stuff that goes down in this life of mine... hopefully I can get a digital camera at some point, or learn to put my blackberry pics onto my computer... cause to be totally honest, I see alot of awesome stuff in my day to day life that I am always like, damn, Someone other than me needs to see this...

so ignore the grammar, the spelling, etc... this is just me saying I hope you didn't forget about me... lol.

...peace, love, and rainbows.

Hello Upper Eastsiders...

Tonight is the night of Gossip Girl's epic return.
It has been a LONG summer... OMFG.
Be mindful... the times have changed...
GG will now be airing at 9p instead of 8p.

Wow... it's been 1 year.

So, this is officially my blog's 1st birthday... blogsary if you will... this pas t year has been a roller-coaster ride... i met some of the most amazing people ever... i've seen some of the most beautiful places... i've experienced stuff that really left me with lessons i will uses for for a lifetime... i've entered in, and exited out of my first serious relationship... i had my first, and second, and third experience of a close friend backstabbing me and there being no sign of reconciliation... I've learned so much about myself... and i don't regret a thing.

As i look to this new year, i have so much i want to accomplish, it's just a matter of when i will get it done... lol... i got a new apartment, which is my first serious step into independence... i will be getting my personal health in order, as in i am going to be going to the gym and/or doing yoga... i will make relationships/hooking up less of a priority within my mind. and focus more on bettering my self and living my best life... i plan to start writing more, even if it's just a blurb here and there, or a letter, or a birthday card... i will refine my "circle" of friends... i say refine, because this past year, i was friendly with everyone, and "friends" with a ton of people... i find in the end, i only felt a real connection, a strong connection with a certain number of people... and those people are the ones that will be in my circle for this new year... my motto: "Those in your circle aren't always in your corner, as circles aren't squares."

So, now that all of this has been said... i want to thank all of you who have stopped by to read this, and other posts throughout this past year... even if you don't know me, thank you... i want to thank Steven for having encouraged me to start this blog,... Jasmine, Damaris, and Justin for having been consistent readers... and Chris, for having inspired the majority of posts that i have made [and for continuing to read, if you have in fact still been reading this].

This was a fun ride, but now it has to come to an end... mainly because next year, i will be crazy busy, and not be able to blog as i would like to... so i will be making the move to tumblr... what makes tumblr any different u ask? well, for starters, the interface is a lot simpler... i can make posts from my cellphone with videos, pics, and audio [i call a phone number and make the post]... there is no actual need to write as it is for blogger... by this, i mean, a photo blog could work on blogger, but when i want to make a 1 line post or something, it looks really naked, and orphaned on the page; tumblr keeps things looking nice and clean... lastly, tumblr connects to my twitter, and i love twitter... lol.

see you there. starting in september. =]

This just occurred to me, my first few posts were of me counting down until when i would leave DC and fly away to San Francisco... and now, i find myself in the very same position... so as an homage to my very first post, in which i introduced myself... i will do the same, except updated... lol.

my name is R O B B.

i've learned so much about myself;
who i am, and who i want to be, and am still learning.
i'm one of the editors on my school's newspaper.

i'm ready to make california permanent.
neways, this is was my clog/blog.
see you on tumbr.

nothing new...

oh yah... Alexander Wang has a new online shop... check it out... www.alexanderwang.com

damn, i really don't wanna keep up this blog anymore... i wanna move onto tumblr already... but i can't do that just yet... =/

hi... did you miss me?

okay, I all... I'm back... umm... kinda reluctantly so... I have big plans to move over to tumblr... i have about 3 friends who have either suggested to me to move, or have made them themselves and i see how much more simpler it is than blogger...

so I am announcing that on August 15th, I will shut this blog down... like, it will still be available for viewing, but I won't be posting on it anymore...

for those paying attention, August 15th would mark the 1 year anniversary of my blog. lol. but you will find much better stuff on my tumblr... i won't give you the url just yet, though if you wanna stalk me, it won't be hard to find it. =P

in other news... I'm now a member of ontdFF... for those that don't know what it is... check my sidebar...

second... i got my first apartment... i move in on the 24th... i share it with two of my friends... check below for pics of my room...

neways... i am going to go back under my rock until the 15th... unless i find interesting things to post here... lol...

This is not a goodbye... this is a see ya later.

I'm taking a break from this thing called a blog from now until I go back to school... I have a few things to focus on... namely, my job which starts tomorrow, the apartment I'm getting with some friends at school (we sign the papers this week), getting my fall/winter wardrobe completed (it's about 70% there)...

So like I always say when I go on sabbaticals... don't be a stranger to my archives... be sure to check out the blogs of my friends and the various websites I frequent listed to the right... and I'll still post twitter updates... which can be found below on this clever little widget I included so I can make quick updates.

I hate to admit this but...

I can't say I completely agree or disagree on the matter of NeoConservatism...
but I can say that it is a political philosophy that I would like to educate myself about.

I don't believe war is a way to bring about peace,
but I do believe we must become proactive with
our peace keeping efforts rather than reactive...
so in that sense I agree with NeoCon.

This video gave me a lot to think about... though it is only 10m long.
Once again, thank you so much Sonny G for posting this.

Okay... Let me run a few things by you... try to keep up.

First... watch this video...
it's my favorite song by Katy Perry other than Mannequin.

Then look at this picture of Zooey Deschanel.

Now... watch this clip from Kathy Griffin's show
My Life on the D-List which features actor Matt Dallas.

Now to the purpose of this post.

1. I know Thinking of You is Katy Perry's song, and it's only natural that the singer actually star in a music video for their song... but to be completely honest... Zooey Deschanel should have starred in this video... the only time I watched it, I kept thinking, gosh, Katy Perry looks so much like ZD its crazy...
just put her in the video instead of Katy... at least she can act... and at that, allow Zooey to sing the song as well... she has the talent [fyi, besides acting, she's in a folk duo named She & Him].

2. Why did they cast Matt Dallas as her love interest/husband??? It's no secret that he's gay... well, he's not out... but it's no secret he's gay... I'm not one to speculate about people, or believe in "signs" or "gaydar" but in this case, I'm making an exception... case and point... the above clip from Kathy Griffin's show.
If anything they should have cast like, Emile Hirsche or someone... anyone other than an obviously gay male... it does nothing to help Katy's faghag image [not that that's a bad thing... i love my hags... some of the closest friends I have in this life]...

3. Thats all... I'm going to bed... its 2.45a and I'm torn between either having a marathon of The O.C. tomorrow... or shopping the sale racks at Urban Outfitters...
I really should save my measly 30bucks... but I do need to get out of the house...
ugh... dumb Global Economic Crisis.

Fast forward to 3:30... Girrrrl.

Here's something to get excited about...

The days of summer might be drawing to a close, yet the evening hours relent. Hence, the perfect time for LA based contemporary fashion brand Hellz to introduce their “Kicks After Six” capsule delivery. A concise yet bold collection, this limited 6 piece line extends Hellz’ ongoing graphic themes incorporating the idea of empowered defiant women that exude nothing but vicious confidence.

Hellz Creative Director, Lanie Alabanza-Barcena expounds, “Inspiration for the graphics were drawn from familiar faces of fashion icons and iconic fashion brands who celebrate them."

We are reaching the end of another week...

Ordinarily, I get really excited for the summer, and I take advantage of every bit of it... however, this year... I can't continue to pretend like it's all good. Blame the Global Economic Crisis; blame the fact that 2/3 into the summer, my job is FINALLY starting; blame my overbearing mother and my delusional father... but I am just anxious for it to be over already so I can get back to the life I left behind in California. I wish Time Turners actually existed, so I could speed up this charade of a summer vacation.

Enough of the pessimism... I have laundry to finish,
and a driver's test to take in about 14 hours... so I should probably get off this computer.

I hope the rest of your summers are faring better than mine has...
or at least you're finding ways to make the most of it.

P.S. The above pic was posted by Miley Cyrus to her twitter [@mileycyrus], I thought it was pretty...

I'm desperately trying to resist the urge... // Noteworthy.

Le Smoking

This is a blog dedicated to superb photography featuring cigarettes.

I'm not a smoker... at least not a cigarette smoker...
but for the past few months, I have been desperately fighting the urge to light up.

I have a desire to become a social smoker...
a cigarette in one hand, and a glass of vodka in the other...

Congrats Meaghan for winning Canada's Next Top Model cycle 3...

Though I didn't like Meaghan at all during the competition, I'm satisfied with the decision.

I still wish Maryam had made it to the final 3... she would have so made it to the top 2... and then she would have lost it to Linsay... but whatever.

Time to watch Project Catwalk [Britain's answer to Project Runway]
Warding off television till Gossip Girl returns in September.

Currently reading Lost In The City by Edward P Jones... looks to be a good book.

Seeing Harry Potter in about 12.5 hours at some point [it's currently 1a as I type this]... lets hope its good.

Treat Me Like Your Mother...

On the verge of the July 13th (UK/Europe)/July 14th (North America) release of their debut album Horehound, The Dead Weather announce the uncensored Cinemax debut of the short "Treat Me Like Your Mother".
The groundbreaking film was directed by Jonathan Glazer, whose credits range from such highly-acclaimed feature films as Sexy Beast and Birth to award-winning music videos for Radiohead.
In a rare event, the film will premiere in full in the US on Cinemax on July 11th at 9:55 pm and continue to air on all of the Cinemax multiplex channels for the following five weeks. The short will premiere in the UK on Channel 4 on July 13th at 00:10.

Sasha Fierce Goes Back to School...

The House of Deréon, Bey & Tina's line, are planning to release a line of trendier,
younger clothes for the Back to School season.
The line is said the be inspired by Beyoncé's alter ego, Sasha Fierce [hence the name]

It just all looks a tad cheap, and i've seen these looks already...
from Forever 21 and Wet Seal, to Macy's and Express.

I love the Diva, but The House of Diarrhea needs to just hang up it's coat.

Radar - Britney Spears

I'm slightly disappointed in this Britney.
This looks like a Ralph Lauren commercial.
I would have opted for a more Toxic-esque music video.
The song has that Bond vibe... just a thought.

Hold onto your panties...

Maxwell's BET '09 Performance of Pretty Wings...

"Did you NOT get my message?"

I just finished watching Obsessed starring Idris Elba, Beyoncé, and Ali Larter...
and OMFG... the fight scene between B and Ali is intense...

If you haven't seen the movie and plan on seeing it,
don't watch the below clip if you don't want the ending spoiled for you...

I just have to say... this is one of the reasons I LOVE Beyoncé... and why she's a diva.

Even in stillettos, she kicks some serious psycho-bitch ass.

Top Model Ferocity...

Yesterday, I decided to just breeze through the entire cycle 2 of Canada's Next Top Model...
one moment, during the seventh episode got me to thinking...
when was top model at its most fierce [both America's and Canada's]...
so here I am to share them with you...
feel free to disagree...
but these were the fiercest moments imo...

America's Next Top Model
Cycle 10 - Episode 5
[Whitney's season]

[Skip Ahead to 3:10]

I wet my pants every time I watch this...
it is just soo HOT DAMN!!!

Canada's Next Top Model
Cycle 2 - Episode 7
[Rebecca's Season]

Rebecca, Tara, and Sinead were my favorites from the beginning...
and look at that, they each made it to the final 5...
I should totally be a casting agent... lol

Overall, I think Canada has a better show...
but out of these two moments...
America has them beat...
I can't get enough of Benny Ninja.

The Reeling - Passion Pit

If I can somehow score a single for the fall semester,
this is what I want my dorm room to look like.
Don't understand?
Just wait till I do it, and I'll post pics.

D.O.A. - Jay Z

Notice how his hair looks...
I want mine like that.

Street Lights - Kanye West

So Music Mondays rolls on with a new video from Kanye.
It's really cool that he's releasing videos for songs
that aren't and probably never will be singles.
Keep it up.

Good Girls Go Bad - Cobra Starship

It's finally here!!!
Leighton Meester looks soo faboosh in those reddish-orange pumps.
Fangs Up!!!

You're A Jerk - New Boyz

I love this video... the song is so annoying, but catchy.

I Know - Jay Z

In case it hasn't been evident by my last few posts and updates to my myspace...
I am in a current fever of Zoe Kravitz...
she is just so beautiful to me, and extremely talented...
her style inspires me, he music excites me, and her acting
[I'm tracking down everything she's been in so I can testify]

Here she is in Jay Z's video for his song, I Know...
I like the song and the video, but I adore her,
and I think she really brings this video to life.

Cole Haan f/w 2009

With an economy that comes closer to resembling the 1920’s each day, there’s no better time than now to dress like you’re spending the night at the Speakeasy.

This summer, Cole Haan introduces modern shoes with an old soul (just not an old sole) in their new capsule collection Cole, Rood & Haan Co. They’re both named for and inspired by Cole Haan’s original brand, which began 81 years ago in 1928. Carrying a feeling of freedom, youth and classic American style, the shoes range from riding boots to relaxed boat shoes; the whole collection comes in brown or black leather.

Keep an eye out for their 2009 release and pick up a pair before they, once again, become part of the past.

I really love what is going on here... I think I know where my paychecks will be going.

Savior Self - Cree Summer

I discovered this video through Zoe Kravtiz' wikipedia entry...
and I am in love... such a beautiful video and song.

Cree achieved stardom on The Cosby Show spin-off, A Different World.
She also lends her voice in many popular cartoon series
like The Rugrats (Suzie) and Drawn Together (Foxy Love).
